This is a set of five linked haiku. Each represents an element.

Her Building

slag sculpted from ore
brittle tin bones discarded
mud on her talons

the river wheel churns
blossoms flow on cotton sails
stitches on stitches

a beak pounded smooth
rivets through fine-woven flesh
her iron heart warms

breath unfurls kite tails
ripples under painted wings
torn bindings released

hopeful songs linger
she soars over shining winds
the void becomes her
